The pop-up was designed with a Caribbean feel, outfitted with brand inspired décor, vintage game stations and the serving of premium rum cocktails, and will feature items and services from a series of brands, retailers and companies from across Toronto.

"The Rum Lounge gives us the opportunity to bring to life a unique and personalized way for consumers to interact with our brand, while rewarding the modern man with sophisticated activities,” explained George Skarpathiotakis, Senior Brand Manager, Rums, Campari Canada, in a news statement. “Having carefully aligned with the some of the most foremost businesses across the sectors of cuisine, retail, men's grooming and the arts, we are hopeful that our guests will find this specially-curated experience enjoyable."

A number of department stores have been welcoming pop-up shops in recent years. In fact, Nordstrom has welcomed an ongoing series of themed pop-up shops at select stores since 2013, that change every four to six weeks. Currently, Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand Goop can be found at Pop-In@Nordstrom.

Toronto’s Yorkdale shopping centre has also opened a dedicated pop-up space dubbed Concept in order to give innovative brands a retail area at Canada’s most successful shopping centre to further help them reach consumers.

Most recently, Saks Fifth Avenue's Sherway Garden location in Toronto welcomed an Hermes pop-up, which opened in December.

The Appleton Estate Rum Lounge will ahave a social media component where followers can nominate the men in their lives to be selected as "Rum People". Winners will be privately-hosted in the lounge alongside an assortment of their closest friends.

Toronto-based men's grooming company King's Crown will be at the pop-up along with food from Leña Restaurante, while several events will be hosted at the pop-up throughout the week.
