Plus-size American fashion brand Torrid’s 3rd annual model search is in full swing and making its way to Canada for the first time.

The casting call, launched online in May, will carry through the summer with live casting events in four major U.S. markets including Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, and Atlanta, and will make a stop in Canada for the first time, with a live casting in Toronto, Ontario, at Oshawa Centre on July 29.

“We’re so excited to be kicking off our third annual Torrid Model Search nationwide—and for the first time ever, we’re heading north to Canada!” said Kate Horton, Torrid SVP and General Merchandising Manager, in a news statement.

New this year, Torrid has also curated a panel of judges including influencer & Project Runway winner Ashley Nell Tipton, celebrity makeup artist Priscilla Ono, and supermodel Candice Huffine. The judges will appear at select live casting events and advise on the top ten finalist selection.

The winner will receive the title of “Face of Torrid 2018,” where she will host Torrid store openings and events as a brand ambassador, star in seasonal fashion campaigns, and appear on the brand’s social media channels throughout the year.

The casting event, which received over 10,000 submissions last year, follows a similar concept that many other brands have been trying out like that of fellow plus-size retailer Addition Elle who recently launched a casting call to find the face for their up-coming fall 2017 campaign.

Marc Jacobs worldwide model call dubbed “Cast Me Marc” has also been hugely successful.

The fashion apparel and accessories retailer for women sizes 10 to 30 has more than 500 stores across the U.S. and Canada.

The winner of the casting call will be revealed in January 2018.
