Live-stream commerce is making major inroads globally and with most retailers having little in-house expertise in this area, external companies are capitalising on the sector’s fast expansion.

Now the UK’s first live-streaming commerce app OOOOO has announced an exclusive commercial agreement with Brazilian retail marketplace B2W. That’s one of the largest online retail companies in Latin America and will now launch Brazil’s first live commerce platform.

The news follows OOOOO announcing a partnership with UK fashion e-tailer Isawitfirst in recent weeks.

As mentioned, B2W is a major player in Latin America and boasts over 60,000 sellers with an offer of more than four million products for customers. It operates the webstores Submarino, Americanas, Shoptime and Soubarato.

The new link-up will see retailers connecting with shoppers through regular live-streamed shoppable shows via the OOOOO app.

The company said online sales in Brazil have reached up to $19 billion annually but e-commerce’s share of total retail sales is still a relatively low 2.8%. This means the opportunity there is huge and with a population of over 200 million people, OOOOO said “Brazil is considered one of the hottest mobile commerce markets”.
