Under Armour and the University of Wisconsin-Madison announced Friday a 10-year partnership that will make the Baltimore-based athletic apparel company the official outfitter of the University beginning July 1, 2016.
As part of the partnership, Under Armour will design and supply footwear, apparel and accessories for training and game-day uniforms for all 23 of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s men’s and women’s varsity athletics teams. The brand will also integrate the University into its global marketing campaigns, social media initiatives, in-store promotions and grassroots activities.
"I am absolutely thrilled about our new partnership with Under Armour," Wisconsin Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez said. "Kevin Plank and his team have established a brand that fits perfectly with the Wisconsin athletics story and culture. Our entire department is looking forward to a long and mutually productive relationship with the Under Armour team."
The University of Wisconsin-Madison has one of the most prominent college athletics programs in the US. The University has won 28 national championships and played in more combined NCAA men’s basketball tournaments and football bowl games than any other university since 1996.
The new partnership makes Wisconsin the 32nd Division I all-school partnership for Under Armour, which includes 17 Division I FBS football programs and 41 Division I men’s basketball programs.
