Vfiles to launch 8th runway competition

VFiles has announced its eighth runway competition, to take place February 15, 2017. The bi-annual design competition is open to designers, stylists, photographers, models, and hair and make-up artists.
The Vfiles runway show is one of the most talked-about shows of New York Fashion Week. Every season, the show brings together celebrities from the music, fashion, and pop-culture world to watch and judge a collaborative fashion show. The competition brings in design talent from every corner of the world – past competitors range from China, Belgium, Italy, NYC, and Mexico.
The show has proven to be a successful platform for helping young designers launch their career. Past winners of the competition have had their clothes featured on pop-culture icons like Rihanna, Beyonce, Gigi Hadid, and Kylie Jenner, and are now stocked at Selfridges, Colette, Dover Street Market, Opening Ceremony, and Harvey Nichols.
The mentors of last season’s competition, which took place on September 6, were Naomi Campbell, Mel Ottenberg, Fear of God’s Jerry Lorenzo, legendary make-up artist Pat McGrath, and rapper Young Thug. The mentors worked closely with all competitors throughout the duration of the competition.
The competition is now open for applications in the above divisions are open to apply until January 6th, 2017. Designers are encouraged to upload their work on VFiles platform for judging.
