Vlone, the clothing brand founded by A$AP Mob member A$AP Bari, announced this month that it will show its first collection in Paris during Men’s Fashion Week.

Bari said in an interview that the collection will include a “denim program” and “leather pieces,” as well as cut-and-sewn pieces made in Italy and Japan.

The Vlone, Fragment Design collaboration that launched at The Park at Ginza in March 2017.

“I wanted to show in Paris to see if I could complete the mission I’m going for,” he said. “I’m trying to show kids that you can do anything. I’m not a kid that went to fashion school. I’m not a kid that went to college and studied fashion. I’m a kid that grew up in fashion and learned it from a life experience.”

Bari added that he doesn’t plan to work with retailers to sell the collection. “Buyers can come to the show and get inspired, but it’s still not for the stores. It’s for the people. It’s for the world. If Barney’s wants to come and buy some clothes, they are going to have to buy the whole lifestyle of Vlone and let me shut down Barneys and bring in my own vision. Other than that, they can’t have it. It’s for me. It’s not for someone to take my shit and resell.”

Vlone was born from the mind of Bari, fellow A$AP Mob member and rapper A$AP Rocky and Edison Chen of Clot. The label is not streetwear or high fashion, but “hood fashion” according to Bari, boasting t-shirts and hoodies that feature the Vlone brand name or a “Friends-“ motif that has become a signature for the label.

Bari has partnered with Nike on an Air Force 1 sneaker and with Fragment Design on a collection this year, and he opened pop up shops for Vlone in the past in Los Angeles and at Colette in Paris. He also revealed in an interview plans to expand Vlone as a lifestyle brand with a barbershop and café.

Little is known about the Vlone show except that Bari is “casting models off the street in Paris.”
