California-based men’s fashion label CWST is shutting down after three years.

Co-founders Derek Buse and Joe Sadler decided to close the business to pursue other projects. Buse said in a statement, “After three years of amazing memories, interaction and relationships with each of you, we regret to inform you that CWST will not be moving forward. We will not be showing spring 2017 at the upcoming markets and will not be shipping autumn 2016 product.”

CWST, which is pronounced ‘quest’, was one of many Los Angeles brands that were pushing to the forefront of men’s fashion alongside John Elliott, Simon Miller, Stampd, Second/Layer and Chapter. The brand produced its collections entirely in Los Angeles and recently launched a capsule collection with Frank & Oak in February.

Founders Buse and Sadler launched CWST after they were forced to stop producing their previous line Riviera Club due to trademark issues. GQ and the CFDA nominated Riviera Club as Best New Menswear Designer in America in 2011, which eventually went to Alexander Wang.

CWST was a regular at New York Men’s Day, the Agentry PR and Cadillac multi-brand fashion presentation that kicks off New York Fashion Week: Men’s.
