Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre is gearing up to welcome new Canadian fashion brands in its recently launched pop-up space.

The 3,600-square-foot pop-up retail environment baptized Concept, first opened in April and is dedicated to giving innovative brands a retail area at Canada’s most successful shopping centre in order to further help them reach consumers.

On May 18, Concept will introduce a second group of retailers consisting of Toronto-based design talent. What’s more, the entrepreneurs behind the new Concept brands share a common goal of raising awareness and funds for causes connected to their businesses.

Among the newly announced Canadian fashion brands, shoppers will be able to find Toronto’s Peace Collective, an apparel and lifestyle brand well-known for its streetwear apparel featuring taglines such as “Home is Canada” and “Toronto vs. Everybody”; along with lifestyle lingerie and loungewear brand Mary Young; Toronto-based streetwear-inspired men’s beachwear line Bather; fashion forward kidswear brand HEIRKid; and Toronto designer Hayley Elsaesser, recognized for her colourful, pop-art inspired prints.

Other brands will also include Inkbox, the Toronto-based brand behind the world’s first two-week tattoo, Lola’s Could’s organic cotton candy, as well as Peace Collective’s signature treat bar known as Peace Treats.

The first rotation of retailers that debuted at Concept last month was focused on local gems from Toronto’s food scene.

In recent years, Yorkdale Shopping Centre has put a focus on promoting Canadian talent. The shopping centre is also home to the FashionCan pop-up shop, which made its debut last October and is dedicated to Canadian designers. Additionally, Yorkdale also plays host to the FashionCan runway event, organized by the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA).

Yorkdale Shopping Centre is Canada's most productive mall. It is located at 3401 Dufferin Street in Toronto.
