Four years after officially entering the Canadian market, fashion retailer Nordstrom is rolling out its first national marketing brand campaign.

Dubbed 'True Nord' and launched on Monday, the Seattle-based retailer said the campaign “celebrates the inclusive and welcoming spirit of Canadians through the lens of individuality and personal style."

Featuring an all-Canadian cast, the campaign was inspired from Canada’s national anthem with key lyrics like "strong and free," and "with glowing hearts," found throughout the campaign, while ‘Nord' means 'North' in French.

"We've been proud to serve our Canadian customers since 2014," said Scott Meden, Chief Marketing Officer for Nordstrom, in a news statement.

"We value the richness that diversity and culture bring to our communities, and our Canadian customers and employees set an example with their warm, welcoming and inclusive spirit. Our hope with this campaign is to celebrate all Canadians and the values we share and strive to reflect as a brand."

Featured cast members include Bag and a Beret Blog founder Mel Kobayashi; stylist and consultant, Harjas Singh; United Nations Goodwill 'Glambassador', Biko Beauttah; and The Canadian Curvies co-founder, Yolanda May Largie.

“My favorite thing about being a Canadian is the diversity. We're so different, yet so the same. Living in Canada, we get to kind of see all the different cultures and the different dynamics, and openly embrace other people, and their styles" said Largie.

The campaign was shot by Canadian-born photographer and director Justin Tyler Close who captured natural landscapes and urban settings across the Greater Toronto Area throughout the campaign.

Meanwhile, throughout it, customers can find the retailer’s latest fall fashion offerings.

The campaign comprises digital advertising, television commercials, YouTube, billboards, digital screens, transit shelters, social media and nordstrom.ca.

The luxury retailer opened its first Canadian store in September of 2014, at CF Chinook Centre in Calgary, followed by openings in Vancouver, Ottawa and Toronto for a total of six locations.

The company also plans to open up to six Nordstrom Rack stores in Canada this year, with three already open.
