Nordstrom Rack, American Eagle and TJ Maxx to open in Harlem
New York City’s Harlem neighborhood will get a few new retail tenants in the coming years. Nordstrom Rack, American Eagle Outfitters, Burlington Coat Factory and TJ Maxx are among the new retailers moving into the neighborhood as part of Harlem’s new commercial and mixed-use buildings.
Nordstrom Rack, American Eagle and Burlington Coat Factory are slated to open in Harlem’s new commercial building that is being developed by Wharton Properties. The developers announced the six-story, 200,000-square-foot building in 2012 and began construction in 2015 at the corner of West 125th Street and Malcolm X Boulevard.
According to the American press, the building’s façade work is almost done and Whole Foods, one of the tenants, is nearly ready to open. Other building tenants will include TD Bank and Olive Garden.
TJ Maxx recently signed a 10-year lease on a 20,000-square-foot space at a 130,000-square-foot mixed-use development. The retail chain will join Bed Bath & Beyond and WeWork at the building and will be located at the building’s lower level. The mixed-use development will be completed this year.
