Several fashion retailers have been recognized by the Retail Council of Canada (RCC) as part of the 2017 Excellence in Retailing Awards.
The not-for-profit industry-funded association, which represents medium and large retail businesses across the country, named on Thursday 61 finalists from 35 companies who are in the running for the awards.
The awards recognize the top achievements of retail organizations in 10 retail categories covering a range of in-store, online and omni-channel operations.
Among the nominees, several fashion and apparel retailers were nominated in the In-Store Experience & Design category including Canada Goose, Sport Chek, Mountain Equipment Co-Op, Roots Canada, Sears Canada Inc., and Surmesur. In the Omni-Channel category, Frank and Oak and Mountain Equipment Co-Op were nominated, while in the Talent Development category, fashion retailers Groupe Dynamite and H&M were recognized.
The Hudson's Bay Company was equally nominated in the Supply Chain Innovation category, along with Mountain Equipment Co-Op who also received a fourth nomination in the Environmental Leadership category.
"The Excellence in Retailing Awards program is one of the most exciting opportunities retailers in Canada have to be celebrated for their ingenuity," said Diane J. Brisebois, President and CEO of Retail Council of Canada, in a news statement. "Retail in Canada needs creative and innovative leaders who can work together and drive ongoing business success. These finalists represent the very best in our industry."
The 2017 winners will be announced at the Excellence in Retailing Awards Gala on May 30, 2017.
