Under Armour nominates marketing expert Jerri L. DeVard to Board

Under Armour on Thursday announced the election of Jerri L. DeVard to the Board of Directors. The election will be considered as part of the company's slate of director nominees at the 2017 Annual Meeting of Stockholders on May 31, 2017.

DeVard, Principal at DeVard Marketing Group, possesses over 30 years of marketing and leadership experience at large global brands, such as Revlon, Harrah’s Entertainment, Citibank, Verizon, and the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings. She previously served as Chief Marketing Officer of ADT, the home and business security services provider, and she also served as EVP of Marketing for Nokia.
 
The Spelman College graduate has held a seat on the Board of Directors for many companies including, PepsiCo, Tommy Hilfiger, Belk and ServiceMaster.

Kevin Plank, Under Armour's Chairman and CEO, commented on the election saying, "Jerri's in-depth marketing, leadership and corporate board experience across such a wide variety of global brands should serve as an invaluable asset to our Board of Directors as we continue to expand globally, deliver breakthrough innovations and find new ways to connect with consumers around the world."
 
DeVard’s marketing expertise could play a role the sportswear company developing a cool image. Plank admitted in February that Under Armour products needed to “become more fashionable at a time when consumers were spoilt for choice.”
