Paco Rabanne Spring Summer Women Collection 2013 in Paris (itw)

A fresh attempt for Paco Rabanne to come back on the scene with Lydia Maurer, young designer, who has presented her first collection for the house. She is literally inspired by everything in the design world of the designer Paco and his favourite materials, such as patch"69", plastic, coat of mail, which reinterprets in a modern way, mixing craftsmanship and technology. Essentially short dresses, made in soft shades and in lightness. Necklines, cutouts on the sides and the bare back shows the importance of sensuality, and the image of Marisa Berenson and Anita Pallenberg, two icons of the house. The finery of the tights and also the jeweled gladiator sandals may have been a little too much in this collection which is already very rich in materials.

Lydia Maurer:The favourite materials, so the patch 69 which is well known on the 69 bags, wicker and the coat of mail. And I basically created the coat of mail in silicone to soften, to create this tension, the contrast between what is soft and hard is hard, what is cold and hot, and that was very important.

Paco Rabanne is a house that is completely out of the trends, this is a house that has its own codes and that has always been independent. And that basically is Paco Rabanne : independent and just creating things that appeal to women, and I saw this, the girls loved what they were wearing. I think this is the best gift.
