Alexander McQueen - Fall Winter Collection 2013/14 in Paris

For this season, the house of Alexander McQueen had a rendezvous at the Opéra Comique in Paris for an intimate collection presenting only 10 silhouettes, and marked by the absence of its artistic director, Sarah Burton, pregnant with twins. Is there a connection with models walking in pairs appearing almost as a symmetry? Apparently not, since the inspiration is more on the religious side and even papal, adding a royal spirit. As always, the clothes at McQueen carry an extravagant appearance : heads are framed in pearl cages, voluminous dresses contain layers of fabric while the bust is embroidered like a work of art. Dresses seem to be entirely sculpted, on which pearl leather straps are added. The details are precious, the materials, embroidery and additions of feathers demonstrate an immense work, close to the world of couture. It's now our turn to reinterpret this language and to imagine the ready-to-wear version shortly available in the boutiques.
