Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 2014 Menswear Collection in London

The Alexander McQueen collection took place under the tracks of a former railway in central London. Between concrete, paves and unkempt grass, dandies arise from smoke, dressed in suits in unusual dimensions, short but large pants and long jackets crossed on the front. With a serious look, hair flattened to the side with a center parting, the young models seem to have taken the wrong path…Sarah Burton, artistic director, is inspired by rituals of ceremonies which men must face, but at McQueen, all reinterpretation leaves room for new stories. Suits are adorned with effects of embroidery or lace type prints, certain jackets or long coats are decked in silk linings ready to fly. All of a sudden a rose printed suit pops up. Then a sleeveless sweater appears like a spider’s web on a shirt. The McQueen dandies are always recognizable, by the preciousness of clothing but also by a romantic twist that’s as timeless as ever.
