During the city’s haute couture fashion week, paris hosts another unmissable event. big houses celebrate the mastery of jewellery across exceptional, unique pieces. these houses must celebrate their history with regards to the future and offer-up recognisable products bearing their stamp, where precociousness is synonymous with art-craft. this season, icons are spotlighted more than ever before. for instance, with chanel pearls and these long necklaces. the boucheron house too plays with its good-luck number '4' through four rings. for the latest jewellery collection, rings are adorned with rectangular and round diamonds whilst the ‘cuff’ version is designed entirely in gold or set with diamonds.for bulgari, symbols are found in nature as well as in striking, colourful stones. the ‘diva’ collection celebrates all four seasons. following the ‘summer’ collection, named caprice in portofino, the house showcased two exceptional necklaces in its place vendôme store: tourmalines, amethysts and mandarin garnets for autumn, crystallised diamonds for winter whereas spring will be unveiled in the comings weeks.it is more than just a symbol at damiani who honours the complete history of the house for its anniversary: 90 years are celebrated across 10 exquisite pieces, one for each decade. interview:benjamin comar:we have not done a collection dedicated entirely to the pearl since 2006 because whilst there have been pearls in each of our collections, it has been 8 years since we have designed a collection based completely on this stone.what we want to do is to work into the pearl all of our well-known icons; there is the lion, the camellia, the baroque theme, the stars and the feather and so we work each of these icons around the pearl.it is true that to work on and even to enrich our heritage is something that is important to us and to our clients of course who find themselves reflected in these collections and who are real lovers of these icons and themes representing chanel.silvia damiani:damiani is known for design and we have to unite the design, the stones and also the desire to create these unique pieces which both represent a stage in our history but are also timeless pieces. this is what we always strive to do in the world of jewellery.music from the show
